Do not use Word's reference page generator. It is the worst. Even when it works, it rarely gets the references right and you have to redo them. Use Perrla if you have to (perrla.com); it's the best APA reference generator out there and works as a plugin for Word. However, for best results get an APA manual and do the references yourself. There are many types of references and many of them you do in different ways. Without knowing what you are referencing, there is no way for me to tell you how it is done, but you can look up your reference type in an APA manual and see how to do them there. Alternatively, you can visit Purdue's Online Writing Lab at: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ They are usually (not always) up-to-date on the current APA standards.
