mmmmmm brains

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

write an equation for this... A bike rental shop charges $8 to rent a bike and 1.50 for every half hour rented. Which equation is correct, or are they both correct... 8 + 3h = total or 8 + 1.50 * 1/2h (h = hours)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

that is what I thought...it specifically asks for one equation that models this statement, so should I put 8 + 1.50 * 1/2h ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SECOND EQUTION IS CORRECT....

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.5h +8 models it (h = 1/2 hours)

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

2nd is right

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no need to be sorry...I wasn't very clear with what answer I needed

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

both are not same !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8+1.50*\frac{ 1 }{2 }h,h is no. of hours.\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ehuman .... you are corrct but.... 1.5h+8=total h=1/2h1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h1=no.of hours...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I will go ahead and put 8 + 1.5 * 1/2h....does that sound good to you guys ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

h being number of hours

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

thank you all so much :)
