We know that \(h(x) = \sqrt {x+5}\), and we know that \(f(x) = \sqrt {x + 2}\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really, what we're saying here is that \(f(g(x)) = h(x)\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Substituting \(x = g(x)\), we find that: $$\sqrt{x+5} = \sqrt{g(x) + 2}$$
