How far does the ball slide before it starts to slip? MC problem.

OpenStudy (wach):

OpenStudy (wach):

I'm lost though I did some work earlier.

OpenStudy (wach):

Okay, so I got 81/512 but that isn't an option

OpenStudy (wach):

I did alpha = torque / I wdisk=wcylinder w0 - I (ugt/R) = 9/7 (ugt/R) t= 9/16 r wo/ug delta s = .5at^2 solved out using calculated t and a = ug got 81/512 R^2 wo^2 / ug

OpenStudy (wach):

And given w = v/r, I subbed in w^2 = v^2/r^2 which cancels out the R^2 to get 81/512 vo^2 / ug

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Hi @wach ! Did you get the answer to your problem or do you still want one? Let me know.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Correct answer in No7: 175/512 vo²/µg
