Which of the following did union organizers believe was necessary, in order for industrial workers to gain wage increases? the right to go on strike government price controls government price control minimum wage laws
Well many union organizations were present during this time period and believed many different things, most notably the AFL and the Knights of Labor
There wasn't a huge emphasis on minimum wage laws so that choice is out
I think it might be A.
There was a lot of strikes. I just did some research. One source said that the answer is A, another source said that the answer is D
Hmmm..
I got a third source saying D
Should I go with D then?
Yeah after looking at it I would say that is correct.
Do you mind helping me with another?
Not at all XD
Which of the following focused on helping immigrants adjust to life in America? the Ellis Island staff nativist organization the Social Gospel movementions the settlement house movement
I said B
Well the nativist organizations were against all immigration. Was there a specific reason you liked that choice?
Nope, I just read about it not too long ago, and I'm gonna say C, I just finished this chapter and when it comes to questions my memory goes blank ._. But I know that the social gospel movement helped them
C definintely. It couldn't be D because those were terrible conditions in the settlement housing.
They are the same thing http://www.riissettlement.org/about-us/our-history-a-timeline/about-settlement-houses/
Excellent point though. That being said, Jacob Riis took pictures of the place to show the world how horrible the conditions were.
Very true. They were the best accommodation that could supply all of the immigrants with housing. In that way, they were a positive thing. I just did some research. Social Gospel was focused on equality for all, which was important for immigrants.
Are they? Ooh this is a tricky question. Speaking of tricky questions, what do you think of the one at the very top?
CORRECTION: the first one is the right to bargain collectively
