How would you write y = -2/5x + 7 in standard form?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Standard form is: \[\LARGE Ax+By=C\]

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

1. Put everything except the constant to the left 2. Multiply certain number to both sides of the equation so that all coefficients become integer.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

"A" cannot be a decimal/fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be 2x + 5y = 35 right?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

exactly :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the explanation both of you :D

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

no problem at all :)
