A reminder to take a break from the mince pies, eggnogs and carols this week - or from the shameless online holiday celebrations of other cultures, if you happen not celebrate western holidays - to check out the many upcoming winter course offerings from Coursera, EdX and StanfordX.
Coursera - www.coursera.org - has more than fifty classes starting in January. EdX - www.edx.org - has announced quite a few new classes in the last few weeks so check their website for updates. And Stanford, after a pilot class this fall, has started offering its own courses on a sister to the EdX platform which can be found at https://class.stanford.edu/courses. So I wish Happy Holidays to all. These online classes are a tremendous gift to the world's people, as bright as any gift under any Christmas tree. Hope to see you in some of them and happy studies in the new year. :)
Thanks you too! :D
Awesome, thank you for the link @blues :-). Also happy holidays everyone.
I enrolled in one of those coursera courses out of curiosity and to learn something...yeah NO. Too much work.
You have the option of just following along with the lectures and readings. As I have done in a few cases. You don't get the certificate at the end saying "hey I did my homework." But I personally think those certificates are next to meaningless in the real world (resumes, college aps, etc) so all you get anyway is what you learn.
Finally! Someone who knows what mince pies are. LOL And Merry Christmas to you all. xD
