A. Identify the graph of the equation. Then give the angle of rotation theta. B. Graph the conic with the rotation defined in 3A. I already know it's a hyperbola but I don't know rotation theta or what the graph is obviously.

OpenStudy (ranga):

Are you going to post the graph?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

I ain't seeing no graph :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry! its \[8x ^{2}+5xy-4y^2=-2\]

OpenStudy (ranga):

Both x and y are squared and they have the opposite sign and therefore this is a hyperbola. Not sure what drawing tools you are provided to rotate the hyperbola over a 3-D cone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea how to do the rotation theta thing ha

OpenStudy (ranga):

Or do they just want you to rotate the axis of the hyperbola in 2D and draw the hyperbola?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just says "then give the angle of rotation theta."
