which OS ? and why do you have install software for keyboard ?

do you mean laptop keyboard as in the keyboard that is built in?
if so make sure you have a driver for it.

so if i download the driver for my particular laptop, do you think it would solve the problem ?

If the built in keyboard is not working, the first thing to test is to see if plugging in an external keyboard works.  If not, then the problem is at a level where human interface devices are having issues and software needs to be looked at.  On the other hand, if built in keyboards fail but external works, then it is more likely to be a hardware failure in the keyboard or the controller.
