Use function notation to write the equation of the line. A. f (x) = -1 B. f (x) = -x - 1 C. f (x) = -x D. f (x) = x http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1346000_1346500/1346433/1/9e51b3345eabcd1ca070cdd65f907d0cdc7ee4a9/HS_A1G2_S2_116070.jpg

@HomeschoolGrad

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Can you explain?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

It's f(x) = x the slope is 1/1 f(x) = x if x = 1 then y = 1 and so on. the y - intercept is zero.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

basically this line intercepts all x and y coordinates that are the same.. (1,1) (2,2) (3,3) (4,4) (-1,-1) (0,0) (-2,-2) and so on

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

So is the answer a positive?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

look closely as to what i posted above..

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Which shows the equation of the line using function notation? A. f(x) = 2 B. f(x) = 0.2x C. f(x) = -2 D. f(x) = 2x http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1348000_1348500/1348060/1/4df4067fe52f14e9f27a768affc33d3dcec98885/116081.jpg Explain, please. Don't tell me the answer.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

you do know if you read your course material you would be able to determine this stuff.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

and that's a horizontal line at y = 2 horizontal lines have a slope of zero. so...

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

I know, but I would understand it better if someone explained to me

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

@shamil98 Is the answer A?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

yeah

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Ok, thanks

OpenStudy (shamil98):

f(x) = y

OpenStudy (shamil98):

btw

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

I know

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Use function notation to write the equation of the line. http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1346000_1346500/1346436/1/2101897587f49e4e6a3b832a95dfff764da43706/HS_A1G2_S2_116090.jpg A. f(x) = -4x - 4 B. f(x) = 1/4x - 4 C. f(x) = 4x - 1 D. f(x) = 4x - 4 C?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

No, look at the y-intercept.

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

@robtobey

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

I still confused..

OpenStudy (shamil98):

y = mx +b b = y - intercept (where you start graphing) you got your slope right, but your y-intercept is wrong.

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

D

OpenStudy (shamil98):

yeah

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Thanks

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Can you help with the one I just asked?

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

This one: Use function notation to write the equation of the line. http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1346000_1346500/1346438/1/47d7adddea1a592c16ac5ff2e3728e4a1aac309b/HS_A1G2_S2_116094.jpg Is it f(x) = -3/2x - 2 or f(x) = -2/3x - 2

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

@shamil98

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = -3/2x - 2 or y = -3/2x - 2 From the diagram the line passes through (0,-2), thus the y intercept is -2. The line also passes through (-2,1) therefore the slope, m, is -3/2 .

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Ok, thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your welcome and Merry Christmas.

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

Merry x-mas to you too! Have a good day. Bye!
