please help!!! will reward medal! a sales person is paid $22,000 a year plus 5% of the amount of sales made. what is the amount of sales needed to have an annual income greater than $35,000? please explain. thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

say the amount of money made by sales = x

OpenStudy (lilai3):

holy...there are 2 beccaboos. :O lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol really

OpenStudy (lilai3):

just stating, worth i guess, go figure ... x<35,000?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

close, but no

OpenStudy (lilai3):

tell me? explain, also?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = amount of money made on sales. but he is just a sales person right ? he needs to give that money away to company. he oly gets 5% of that money ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so money earned through sales = 5 % of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

his fixed salary = $22,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

total income = $22,000 + 5 % of x

OpenStudy (lilai3):

22,000 x 0.05 > 35,000?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to solve :- 22,000 + 5% of x > 35,000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(22,000 + 0.05x > 35,000\)

OpenStudy (lilai3):

so i am correct, eh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^^ look up :)

OpenStudy (lilai3):

yes i am, thank you very much,

OpenStudy (lilai3):

please help me again.
