what is the difference between divisible by and a multiple of ...plz explain

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Divisible by means that it is able to divided by. Multiple means that, that number can be multiplied to get that other number. I'll provide some examples: is 18 divisible by 2? yes. 18/2 = 9 is 2 a multiple of 18? yes 2 x 9 = 18 I hope this provides some clarification to your question =)

i understood divisible but stil cant get multiple

OpenStudy (shamil98):

I made an error with explaining multiple, forgive me, I am somewhat sleepy.. What are some multiples of 2, the multiples are the numbers that you can multiply by. The multiples of 2 are : 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 , 10 , 12... The multiples of 4 are : 4 , 8 , 12 , 16 , 20 ...

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Multiples are the numbers you get when you multiply a given number by another whole number .

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Basically the multiples of 2 are the numbers that are multiplied by 2 to get another number 2 x 1 = 2 2 x 2 = 4 2 x 3 = 6 2 x 4 = 8 2 x 5 = 10 Make sense?..
