OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Is anyone here a follower of the Bhagvad geeta who could help me out in writing a speech?

mathslover (mathslover):

Well yes, I am the follower of Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta, what kind of help do you need?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

I have sort of forgot the base of why the Bhagvad Geeta was sung to Arjun at Kurkshetra during Mahabharat times. I can't remember if it was that Arjun did not want to fight against his own relatives-the Kauravas joining the Pandavas side? And what other background knowledge is supported on that.

mathslover (mathslover):

Well, you are right there, Arjun was not interested to fight against his own ones - The Kauravas. Then, Shri Krishna sung Bhagvad Geeta lesson to teach him : "In his conversation with Krishna, Arjuna learned that he must not worry about the results of his actions, when we act with a result in mind, we are listening to our own desires. Right action means accepting our duties and acting without any desires of our own. He had learned that his true self should have no desires or fears, no beginning and no end. He will then begin a path to God." - http://www.ask.com/question/what-lessons-does-arjuna-learn-from-his-conversations-with-krishna-in-the-bhagavad-gita
