OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on the data in the table, what is the difference between the mean numbers of turkey vultures and great blue herons observed at Hornsby Bend between March 10 and March 14? A. 70 B. 56 C. 9 D. 441

OpenStudy (blues):

What data table where? Mean (aka average) is found by adding all the observations and then dividing by the total number of observations. Happy computing.

This sounds like it should belong in the Mathematics section, not the Biology section, then again it's a mix of both.

OpenStudy (blues):

BookSoldier is right - it is basically a math problem. But then, mathematics is the language of science, including biology. As my job is "computational biologist" and as biologists spend so much time thinking about statistic summaries on their data, this is very much a biology problem. In my opinion, which is of course biased. :)
