If the straight line segment AB is rotated about the y-axis it will result in a cone. You can pick some numbers for the x-intercept and y-intercept. A can be (5,0) and B can be (0,8). When A is rotated about the y-axis, it will rotate about the center O which is the origin creating a circle of radius 5. Going from A towards B on the line AB, each point will create a circle around the y-axis. B, being on the y-axis, will not create any circle and that will be the tip of the cone. The circle formed by rotating OA will be the circular base of the cone. With the exmaple numbers we have chosen for A and B, the radius of the cone = 5. The height of the cone = 8
