hello--what a great resource, for support! my questions is: where is a centralized assignments page for 6.00SC--is there one? i noticed two MIT open courseware curricula on this topic, 6.00/6.00SC, and that the 6.00 (2008) course allows for a centralized assignments page, as well as downloading all the material at once. i don't see this for 6.00SC (2011)--the assignments link sends me to a sort of starter page, which does contain problem set 0. however, i must navigate lecture by lecture, to hunt down each assignment individually. btw, is there a core diff between 6.00 & 6.00SC? thanks!
The SC, as I recall, is for Special Challenge, though I may be misinformed. What I do know is that it is more math intensive. However, you can pick and choose from either or both, which means you can have more programming problems to tackle. When it comes to really learning this stuff, more experience and problem solving is better.
@e.mccormick well, "special challenge" sound good anway ; ) i looked more closely at the non-SC flavor, and wow! problem set 1 seems waayy more mathy, and possible over my pay grade. i'll have to revisit in the future, and see if i can wrap my head around "There is a cute result from number theory that states that for sufficiently large n the product of the primes less than n is less than or equal to e**n and that as n grows, this becomes a tight bound (that is, the ratio of the product of the primes to e**n gets close to 1 as n grows)…"
