5-(x-5) >-2(x = 4) x> -8 x<-8 x>-18 x<-18

I think there is something wrong with your equation XD

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

5- (x - 5) > -2(x .....here is a problem, is it supposed to be + or - 4 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5-(x-5) >-2(x + 4) x> -8 x<-8 x>-18 x<-18 sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me to solve this. i don't understand

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

5 - (x - 5) > -2(x + 4) -- distribute through the parenthesis 5 -x + 5 > -2x - 8 -- combine like terms 10 - x > -2x - 8 -- subtract 10 from both sides -x > -2x - 8 - 10 -- add 2x to both sides 2x - x > -8 - 10 --- combine like terms x > -18

Know what PEMDAS is acamaca?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it thanks

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

if it helps you, acamaca, if you have just a sign in front of the parenthesis, you can put a 1 in front...like this... 5 - 1(x - 5) > -2(x + 4).....and just distribute the -1 through the first parenthesis.
