What was one of the successes of Reconstruction after the Civil War?

The southern economy was quickly restored to pre-Civil War status.

Well, the Civil War was the time where Negros fought for rights. The Civil War took place from 1859-1861. The constitution was finished earlier. I believe in the 1700's. The question is asking for a success, so the first statement is not an option. Also, because it was no quick fix after the Civil War.
The reconstruction era took place from 1865 to 1877.
"In a speech delivered on April 11, while referring to plans for Reconstruction in Louisiana, Lincoln proposed that some blacks–including free blacks and those who had enlisted in the military–deserved the right to vote. He was assassinated three days later, however, and it would fall to his successor to put plans for Reconstruction in place."
During the civil right movement in the 1960s would they now get the opportunity to have political, economic and social equality. I believe that the answer is therefore 'Amendments to the Constitution gave blacks citizenship and the right to vote.'
