The use of phrases, fragments, and punctuation can affect the pace and mood of a text. How would you describe the pace of the following passage? "Yet, mad am I not—and very surely do I not dream. But to-morrow I die, and to-day I would unburden my soul. My immediate purpose is to place before the world, plainly, succinctly, and without comment, a series of mere household events. In their consequences, these events have terrified—have tortured—have destroyed me." Slow Fast Both fast and slow Average
i think the pace is slow because each sentence has adverbs and commas which make the passage seem very relaxed and poetic
Actually both A and C were wrong. I just wanted to see what could have been the answer but thanks for the help!
I would say its average because there is no exclamation point telling us that they are trying to rush they story. Hope this is right :/
All right thanks!
Do you get this question by any chance?
