Keith ran in a marathon. It took him 3 hours and 2 minutes to run 26 miles. If he ran at the same rate for the whole race, how many minutes did it take him to run each mile?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You need to find minutes per mile. Convert the time in hours and minutes to minutes, then divide that number by 26 miles.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Since one hour is 60 minutes, 3 hours = how many minutes ? Then add the number of minutes in 3 hours to 2 minutes. That is the total number of minutes. Then divide th total number of minutes by 26 miles.
