to find the x intercept, sub in 0 for y
y = -5/2x - 2
0 = -5/2x - 2
5/2x = -2 -- divide by 5/2
x = -2/(5/2)
x = -2 * 2/5
x = - 4/5 -----> x intercept is (-4/5,0)
