Write a proportion that could be used to solve for each variable. Then solve. 60 pens in 25 boxes 12 pens in y boxes SOLVE FULLY PLEASEEE (x
\[\frac{25}{60}=\frac{y}{12}\] is one way to start, although there are others
boxes to pencils : : boxes to pens easier to keep the variable in the numerator then solve via \[y=\frac{12\times 25}{60}\] cancel first, multiply last
by which i mean \[y=\frac{\cancel{12}\times 25}{\cancel{60}^5}=\frac{\cancel{25}^5}{\cancel{5}}=5\]
Thank you ! (:
yw (again) is it clear what i am doing?
