Here is the thinking for the first one. The small triangle can be shown to be similar to the big triangle by SAS similarity. That means that the angles of the two triangles are congruent. That means that the segments are parallel because if two lines are cut by a transversal such that the corresponding angles are congruent, then the lines are parallel.
