What is the equation of this graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Any guesses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=tanx almost works but it has an extra line in the middle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Right, do you know your trig graph properties?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like what do you mean?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Do know what affects the graph, like what do you have to do to stretch it or compress it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty much everything except for how to stretch the lines apart like I need to in this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I've been playing with the grapher to try and figure it out but I can't find the property

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Well that's where the x comes in. Try playing around with tanx. Try graphing tan2x and then tan(1/2)x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh! Thanks! tan1/2(x+pi)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And also can you just check this one too, if I got it right.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Yup, that's it. And alright, give me a sec.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Looks right to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Anytime.
