The average amount of annual interest earned across three investment accounts was $2,709.00. If one account yielded $1,345.00 in the 12 months period, and the second yielded $568.00, what did the third account yield? Thanks.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

If the average of the 3 accounts was $2,709.00 then that means that the three accounts total 8,127.00. So the third account must be 8,127.00 - 1,345.00 - 568.00 which equals $6,214.00

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

ANgarmsupsin Do you think I read and calculated that correctly? Somehow I feel that the $6,214.00 answer seems too large.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the same I got, but you made it make more sense to me. Thank you. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get $8,127? Thanks

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The average of the 3 accounts is $2,709.00 so all 3 accounts would total $2,709.00 times 3 which equals $8,127.00
