Which of these sentences uses a semicolon appropriately? (5 points) I need to leave for school right now; because I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. I need to leave for school right now; but I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. I need to leave for school right now; although I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. I need to leave for school right now; however, I don't have all of my school supplies gathered.

I need to leave for school right now;because... Imagine if the semicolon wasn't there in this sentence. It would still make sense, correct? Therefore, the semicolon makes no change in this sentence and only adds more clutter to the main point of it. :) I need to leave for school right now; but I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. A comma could make a lot more sense in this instance, therefore it doesn't work. I need to leave for school right now; although I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. No punctuation whatsoever helps the cadence of this sentence, therefor this isn't the answer. Now, the last one isn't a great choice either, but it is the closest.... I would try answering with it if I were you, however in my opinion none of them use a semicolon correctly. Imagine if the semicolon wasnt there and was replaced with a period. Does the sentence still make sense? If it does and the second sentence supports the theme of the first, chances are the semicolon is used correctly.

"However" almost always requires a semicolon; however, one is absent.

I believe it is I need to leave for school right now; however, I don't have all of my school supplies gathered. Using however most of the time indicates a semicolon
