How to solve it: Given cos 6 theta = 4/5, P 6 theta is in Q1, tan 6 theta = ? a) 3/4 b) 4/3 c) - 3/4 d) - 4/3

myininaya (myininaya):

what does the P mean?

myininaya (myininaya):

I will leave you with the following: |dw:1388491733745:dw| Find tan(6theta) using the above picture

OpenStudy (tomektomeknyc):

Ok , thank you, i am not sure about P

myininaya (myininaya):

So P is certainly there in the problem? It made no sense to me to include it so I didn't.

myininaya (myininaya):

do you know how to find tan(6*theta) using the pic above?

OpenStudy (tomektomeknyc):

I will need to use one of the formulas that allow to calculate tan if I have cos given, or to calculate the third angle from Pythagorean theorem and then use it to calculate tan

myininaya (myininaya):

the third side and you will use the definition from tan which is opp over adj, right?

OpenStudy (tomektomeknyc):

right

OpenStudy (tomektomeknyc):

Thank you very much for your help

myininaya (myininaya):

np

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

|dw:1388539331469:dw| |dw:1388539436553:dw| the answer is tan6 theta = 3\4
