Find the measure of angle x. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
is there more? maybe a picture ?

this looks like trig. there are 3 sides in a right triangle: hypotenuse (opposite the 90 deg angle) the "opposite" side and the "adjacent" side. for angle x which sides do we know the length of ?
Opposite and Hypotenuse
now use soh cah toa to figure out which trig function to use. can you ?
Can you refresh my memory? Please?
the soh cah toa is supposed to "refresh your memory" what do you think S O H is short for ?
I know how to get to here sine(x) = 8/17 but then i get stumped here.
once you get your equation sine(x) = 8/17 you "undo" a sin by taking the inverse sin of both sides. by definition, this gets rid of the sin on the left side: \[ x= \sin^{-1}(8/17) \] you need a calculator to find the answer. they don't say if they want degrees or radians... I would guess they want degrees... so make sure your calculator is in degree mode.
so you divide 8 by 17 and take the inverse sin out of that?
yes
OK thank you! Stay tuned to check on my answer :P
Hmm I got 61.92 So 62.00?
no on the degrees, and no on the rounding to the nearest 100th
Wait I used cosine instead of sin sorry let me retry that.
Ok now i got 28.06.
you should get 28.07248694 to round to the nearest 100th, look at the the next number over from 07 if 5 or bigger round up. It is "2". so just keep it 07 28.07
Ok thank you soo much!! :)
