Graph the logarithmic function. y = log(x – 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that graph look correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x-2) implies a Right Shift in the graph. I believe you did a vertical shift

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are the only other options I have O.o?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The yellow one. Solving for the root of log (x-2) gives x = 3 The yellow one has (3,0) as an x-intercept so it is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry this may sound silly but how do we solve for the root of the log?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

log (x-2) = 0 e^ of both sides (x-2) = e^0 x-2 = 1 x =3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :)

np :)
