In a living plant, the cells that make up one of the plant's structures may contain more chloroplasts than the cells of other parts of the plant. - Describe one way in which chloroplasts interact with other organelles. - In which plant structure would you expect to find cells that contain the greatest number of chloroplasts? Explain in your answer the specialized function of chloroplasts and how they help plant cells carry out essential life processes.

1. Chloroplasts are where the light reactions of photosynthesis happens. The products of the light reactions go to the mitochondria to be used in the dark reactions (Calvin cycle). So the chloroplasts interact with the mitochondria. 2. Since leaves are the parts of plants that photosynthesize (because they have large areas to be exposed to sunlight), chloroplasts are more abundant on the leaves than anywhere else.
