so first of all i think there's something wrong with ur function so u need to fix that first. it should be something like f(x) = 40x + 50 that's an example, so try to fix up ur function equation first.

after u've done that, u can calculate the avg rate of change between yr 3 and yr 5. Avg rate of change = \[\frac{ f(x _{2)}-f(x _{1)} }{ x _{2}-x_{ _{1} }{} }\]
