@Spiffy2wice , we will not do your entire exam. What exactly do you need help with?
yeah...specifically what do you need help finding...? names? quotes? what?
Let me rephrase your original question: Have YOU read the book Fahrenheit 451? If the answer is 'no' then I suggest you get started because we cannot do your work for you.
The book is actually not a bad read. If you REALLY REALLY don't want to read it, you could always use sparknotes or cliffnotes, but the teacher will always know that you used sparknotes.
It's an awesome book IMO.
since i haven't read the book, nor do i have access to the book, i just need help with the page numbers and exact excerpts from the book she wanted @Compassionate @shadowz
You could always buy the ebook, or go to shadier websites. Like I said, if you don't want to read the book, then try looking up online notes for it. We can't help you help yourself if you can't help yourself.
well, i don't have time to read the book since i only have 3 days and 12 hours til' my deadline, and as far as the eBook, i don't have any money for that.
you could always use sparknotes. and you ALWAYS have time to read the book. I've done entire projects of this sort in 8 hours pulling all nighters. Not that you should, I am simply saying that you both have time, and should read the book or at least go check notes. If you don't have enough money to buy an ebook, then you shouldn't have signed up for the course. It is YOUR responsibility when you sign up for a course to make sure you have money; but I digress, and I suspect that you are far more interested in making an excuse not to read the book. Suit yourself, but realize what jagatuba asked you.
I didn't "sign up" for it it was mandatory, it's my first year of high school, I have a bunch of other subjects with less than perfect grades, give me a break.
I just spend around 5 minutes typing the nastiest thing I could manage, but then I realize that you probably wouldn't appreciate it. When I was in my freshman year of high school, it was in a foreign country that spoke a foreign language, yet I was still required to take US online courses after coming home from a 9 hour school day. Despite this, I persevered. The reasoning is simple: I was motivated to get my work done, and to try. Look, I understand that you are probably encountering major changes in your life. Maybe a relative passed away, maybe some other stressful event happened. Despite this, however, you still have a job to get done. This assignment was given to you, and it's your responsibility as a student to finish it. Of course, you could choose to not do the assignment. I would understand. However, there is one thing you cannot do: get the assignment done without working. You can choose the game (to do or not to do), but you cannot change the rules. If you want to read the book, and you need a copy, I can see to it that you get one. But, if you are here and determined not to get the work done, I suggest you simply leave, because you are wasting our time, and your own time, because not much will get done. Student life can be stressful at times, but those who work at it are rewarded. Let me know your decision please.
Okay, first of all, 3 days is more than enough time to read the book. It is not even that long or hard to read. Second, I know you kids are going to think what I'm about to say is Science Fiction, but I assure you that what I'm a bout to say is true. There are places to find books to read other than the Internet and you don't even have to pay to read them. These places are called libraries. Libraries are building which store all kinds of books and even movies. People of all ages are welcome in libraries and the people who run them, strange folks called librarians, will even help you find the book you are looking for. They will even let you take the book home with you as long as you promise to bring it back. Almost every city even small ones have a library. And those that don't are not to far away from a city that does have one. You want to hear something even weirder? Every school in the United States has a library. I know. Isn't that bizarre? But it's true. And get this, you're really not going to believe this one. Anytime a teacher in any school assigns students a book to read, it is a book that can be found in that school's very own library! Yeah! I know. It's crazy. It's like the library knows what the teachers are going to assign or something! Seriously, dude. It's obvious that you don't want to do the work, but you have come to the wrong place to cheat. Nobody here is going to help you answer these questions unless you read the book. If you are unwilling to read the book, which you can easily find in ANY library because it is a classic and required reading in many schools, then you are on your own. Good luck. And as far as giving you a break ... that is the problem, you have been given too many breaks which is why you have procrastinated on this assignment which was probably given to you before Christmas break and which is why your grades in other course reflect it. You are in high school now partner. Nobody's going to hold your hand any more. Time to buckle down and do your work. Tough love brother. Come back when you have read the book and I will help you with every question on this assignment, but not before.
you're Sarcasm is funny (which is why i awarded you with the medal), any way,i know what library is, i just don't have access to the library (like i said before) and if you know of any other mythical magical places where i can read the book for free, Please elaborate, i didn't come here to argue, i came here for help.
Well, good then we have an understanding. I'm glad you found humor in my sarcasm because that was how I meant it and not to be mean. Thank you for the medal. As for finding a copy of the book, no access is not going to cut it for an excuse. As I said there is a library in nearly every town. there is likely one very close by you. Nad I swear if you tell me there isn't I will delete this post. I lived in a podunk town in Oregon with a population of 3000 and we had a branch of the county library there. But I'll see if I have any magic up my sleeve.
I once lived in a small town with a population under 100, and we had a library, and even a Supermarket. I actually have a copy of Fahrenheit 451 sitting right next to be, so I could actually flip through it and do your work within five minutes if I wanted - but I will not, because that violates my own ethics, and by such, you will never learn. There comes a time in every boys life where he must learn to be a man.
*boys' Forgot it's possessive!
BANG! See there? One Google search and I get a hit on the very first link. ABRACADABRA! There you go: http://ebookbrowsee.net/fahrenheit-451-complete-text-pdf-d364499465
Dang it now I have to read the book again myself. All it took was reading, "IT WAS A PLEASURE TO BURN," and the pleasure to read this most excellent tale came back to me. Well I'll be busy for the next few hours.
For the record though, paper burns at around Celsius 451.
Yeah, inky, but this story is science fiction remember, plus the combustion point of paper maybe 451C, but it is probably much higher when bound in a book.
There is not, a library within walking distance of my neighborhood, if there was i would walk through the rain to get the book, it seemed interesting which is why i picked it, thanks for letting me know you had a copy of the book next to you and making it seem so easy, Thanks. and thank you both for telling me about how there are/we're libraries in you're area. i checked with branches within a ten mile radius and they didn't have the book. since you all seem to think i didn't try, Thank you all for your knowledgeable sarcasm and your time. Thanks
And This is a minor detail, but i'm a girl in reference to the quote @Compassionate wrote. thanks again! if only you could hear the sarcasm dripping from my voice.
You are quite welcome and thanks for ignoring that link that i gave you where youj can read the book for free and don't even have to get up off your lazy butt to do so and thanks for being so gratefully sarcastic that it is apparent that you are not going to read the book even when it is hand to you because now I can go about my business without worrying about hang to help you anymore. God luck with that assignment.
I opened the link and i am reading it, Thank you, very much. Really. No sarcasm nothing, thanks @jagatuba
SPOILER ALERT: Montag kills Captain Beatty
Thanks! -.-
@Spiffy2wice You're welcome. @Compassionate Montag? Who's Montag? ;)
@jagatuba that link you sent me, is whack, it's just the first 77 pages of the book (Preview) *Sarcastic Gasp* and when i saw the option to download the full book, a few pages later it asked me to sign up for there website, so i retract my genuine thank you for a sarcastic thanks-for-nothing one.
Here's an audiobook! You don't even have to read it now, just listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdpJjUCPH_s That is the whole book! Haha.
Omg yay! thanks so much, NOT! i cant hear because i am in fact deaf, so that was completely pointless. Thanks again for nothing.
And the link I gave you is the WHOLE BOOK. "And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Yes, thought Montag, that's the one I'll save for noon. For noon... When we reach the city." are the last three sentences of the book. No this is ridiculous deaf? For real? It matters not. the link I gave you is the full book. Read or don't listen to it or don't it doesn't matter you don't want to do the work you don't need this thread any longer I'm closing it.
Jagatuba and I could have done your homework 3-4 times over the length of this conversation. You have an audiobok and a link to the PDF. You're not deaf, dear. You're just making excuses, trying to get us to do your homework. (Pic related)
No, I'm not making excuses at all, that's not the thing to lie about thank you very much. But hey, you believe what you want to believe about me.
Just read the book and do the work. You will not only be reward with a grade better than a zero, you will be rewarded with what is, I swear to you, a really good story.
well this turned into a nasty conversation o.O
Well, thats why the question got closed. There is no point helping those who do not want to help themselves.
