Which of the following statements is always true? a. Lines that do not intersect are parallel lines b. Two coplanar lines that do not intersect are parallel lines c. Lies that form a right angle are parallel lines d. Skew lines are parallel lines

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|| = parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

parallel no intersecty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a

OpenStudy (nikato):

a is never true. u can have skewed lines. these lines also never intersect

OpenStudy (nikato):

i meant a is only sometimes true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what letter is the correect answer, a,b,c or d?

OpenStudy (nikato):

like i said, a is not correct. d is not correct, becuz the definition of parallel lines means that those 2 lines must be coplanor, but thats not nessary for skew lines

OpenStudy (nikato):

and c would not be correct, becuz in order for lines to form a right angle, they must intersect, they cant be parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (nikato):

yea. no problem. so with those info, which would be correct through process of elimination

OpenStudy (nikato):

wait, @ehuman why did u delete ur post?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, I had to re-read A and B myself lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I deleted it because I was in error

OpenStudy (nikato):

oh ok. becuz i just started reading ur long post, but it suddenly went *POOF*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two lines that would cross in the same plane most likely will not cross if in different z planes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is a reasonable but trick answer until I actually read the correct answer
