what makes america democratic?
What make the US a democracy is by giving the governing power in the hands of representatives that are elected by its citizens via elections held every number of years. Representatives like presidents, congressmen, and governors have short term office, making their power relying on the people every 2-4 years. It prevents any one person or entity from having too much power and cause opposition and tyranny such as countries of dictatorships and kings. It also place a limit on the number of terms, except for governors and lesser representatives. It is not an absolute democracy, but it is more of a mixed of democracy and other systems with the option to remove and overthrown its leader. Much like how the melting pot that describe Americans, the US itself, laws, and systems are a mixture, too. It has mostly democracy with some elements of socialism, communism, and dictatorship.
