For the following relations to be a function, X can not be what values? a) { (8, 11), (34,5), (6,17), (X ,22) } b) { (12, 13), (-11, 22), (33, 101), (X ,22) }

OpenStudy (lucaz):

you fave a function when f(x) gives you only one y value

OpenStudy (kagıtucak):

in a) x cannot be 8,34,6 because from the definition of being a function all values must have one reflection for example if x=8 then x goes 11 and 22 at the same time and this is oppesite to definition of a function so likewise in b x cannot be 12,33

Thanks for the answer and explanation @kagıtucak

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x!=(8,34,6) and for the other one x!=(12,-11,33) is true ?! @kagıtucak
