Silver nitrate reacts with calcium chloride
Hello and welcome to OpenStudy. Are you trying to calculate something or finding something? Can you write the chemical equation?
i have to write and balance the following equation Silver nitrate reacts with calcium chloride
Alright. Well first, can you find out the chemical composition of those reactants? Hint: You can Google the names if you can't translate them yourself.
AgNO3 -CaCl2 ? i'm not sure
Looks right. And can you find out the product?
i don't think so. i'm confused
I think when you start to learn this you should be given the products. Well if not, you will need to look it up. With practice you will be able to remember it. Here it is in an equation before balancing: \[CaCl _{2}+AgNO _{3}\rightarrow AgCl+Ca(NO _{3})_{2}\]The products are called silver chloride and calcium nitrate. Now, how would you balance that equation?
CaCl2 + 2AgNO3 = 2AgCl + Ca(NO3)2
Looks right to me. Although that equal sign should be an arrow to note a reaction. Good job! :)
Thank you so much ! and i know i just couldn't find the arrow sign on my computer :)
Oh you will have to use the equation editor on this site haha. You're very welcome. Maybe next time I can show you how to find the products manually. Welcome to OpenStudy again and enjoy your stay.
Oh Thank you I didn't even know that was there ! I have one more question is that okay?
Sure. Please close this one and make a new post. :) Also, this site is for people to help each other learn so we encourage users to reward each other for good work.
