I need help writing an essay on the Scarlet Letter.. Here is my prompt: Discuss the significance of nature in the Scarlet Letter. Consider some of the ways in which Hawthorne uses aspects of nature and natural settings in the novel.
One second i'll get the answer :D
Nature serves as much more than simply a passive setting or a pretty backdrop in the natural world. Nature serves a very significant purpose in The Scarlet Letter. This novel explains a story of sin and guilt within the Puritan Society. Nathaniel Hawthorne tells of the effects of sin on the hearts and minds of the main characters. Hester Prynne has committed a sin of adultery and must face many consequences throughout the novel, however she is not the only one, others must also face difficult consequences because of sin. Hawthorne uses the significance of nature to show how even in the suffering and despair, there is still hope within these difficult trials and tribulations.
that is my intro so far
Wow that's a great start
Should i add more
your pretty good I can think of one thing you can add: the magic of youth is wasted on the young, the sins of youth are paid for by the miseries of old age, true beauty lives in the spirit, physical beauty fade quickly, when good times return, people quickly forget lessons learned in sorrow. "
