Despite the highway system found throughout Venezuela, the country's goods are still transported mostly by ship. Of all the goods in Venezuela, oil is its most valuable. It accounts for around 80 percent of the income from exports and 50 percent of the government's income. It is also responsible for 24 percent of the GDP (gross domestic product). The United States buys much of its oil from Venezuela, in fact, Venezuela is the largest foreign supplier of oil to the U.S. Iron ore, bauxite, aluminum, coffee, cocoa, rice, and cotton are all other examples of Venezuela's exported goods.
