- How may mRNA be modified before it leaves the nucleus? - What is the genetic code? What are codons? - Outline the steps of translation.
There are three modifications which is done to mRNA before it leaves the nucleus: 5'capping, addition of poly-A tail, and splicing. All of these serve a function. You can find this in your book, but some books don't include splicing as part of the modification, rather make it it's own process. You can look at your book for a formal definition of what the \(genetic~code\) is. I am 100% certain that it is in there.
