Can anyone explain this nonsense to me? I get about zero percent. Derive the equation of the parabola with a focus at (−2, 4) and a directrix of y = 6. Put the equation in standard form.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

@Directrix

OpenStudy (perl):

why do you call this nonsense, thats a bad attitude

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

xDDD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I call everything nonsense lol ;)

OpenStudy (perl):

since we have a vertical parabola we want to use the standard equation (x -h)^2 = 4p (y-k) which opens upward or downward. directrix : y = k - p focus : (h, k + p ) vertex : (h,k) notice that the vertex is halfway between the focus and the directrix
