An example of a subordinate clause, and independent clause?

It was after midnight^ and the last bus home had already meft. (Independant clause)

We have two types of clauses Independant clauses,When removed from its sentence,an independant clause makes complete sentence and these clauses are joined together by the usual connecting words:
are and, hut, or, nor, and for.
Subordinate clause :cannot stand alone as a sentence,so it needs an independant clause to complete the meaning. there are 3 types of subordinate clauses Adverb clause, Adjective clause and Noun clause .
