how would i solve this inequality 14 < 2t + 18 ≤ 20

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Start by explaining what it means to you to "solve an inequality" involving a variable, t.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh it wants to graph it D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You break it up into 14≤ 2t + 18 and 2t + 18 < 20. You'll get -2≤ t and t<1. Then you graph a line and put a closed circle over the -2 and draw a dark line to the side with numbers greater than -2 and draw an open circle over 1 and draw a dark line to the side with numbers less than 1

thanks for your help i think i got it now

OpenStudy (mathmale):

What I was hoping you'd say was that "solving an inequality for t involves isolating t, as in writing an inequality such as (expression) < t < (some other expression).
