@abdela25 If X = 13 units, Y = 15 units, and h = 11 units, what is the area of the parallelogram shown above? (picture included) A. 56 square units B. 143 square units C. 165 square units D. 195 square units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area= base*height=13*11=143 square units .

OpenStudy (abdela25):

the area for a parallelogram is base x height here x=base and h=height 13x11=143 that would be your area for this parallelogram but dont get confused with the y in finding the area the y has nothing to do with it so dont get confused ! formula= A=BxH

Oh ok

OpenStudy (abdela25):

yupp yupp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much!!

OpenStudy (abdela25):

your very welcome again ! Any more questions ?

OpenStudy (abdela25):

okay go ahead

Carl spends 8 hours a day at school. Once he gets home, for every class that assigns it, Carl spends 30 minutes per class doing homework. Which equation represents the total amount of school-related time, s, Carl spent yesterday if c classes assigned homework? A. s = 8c + 30 B. s = 8 + 30c C. s = 8 + 0.5c D. s = 8c + 0.5

OpenStudy (abdela25):

okay well this is fairly easy to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is?

OpenStudy (abdela25):

first we now that s=school related time so the equation would need to start with "s=" they all do so now we need to figure out the rest of the problem...right off the bat we know 8 hours of school is school related so now the equation should be "s=8+" we also know that he does 30 minutes of homework for every class assignment which stands for "c" so 30c means 30 mins per class assignment so plug in 30c to the equation er had and we get... s=8+30c your final answer would be B. :) clear enough or so you want me to go over any other part of it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you! I understand it :)

OpenStudy (abdela25):

yayy ! thats goood lol any more questions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope I am good for now

OpenStudy (abdela25):
