OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Carolyn is making cookies. The recipe calls for 1 3/4 cups of brown sugar. If she makes 2 1/2 batches of cookies, how many brown sugar does she need? * I think that I should multiply 1 3/4 by 2 1/2 because I think that one and three-fourths of sugar is for one batch. To make it to two, I think that I should multiply. Am I right? @phi

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, multiply by 2.5 (or 2 ½)
