OpenStudy (iesmee):

Solve each equation by factoring

OpenStudy (iesmee):

\[3v^{2}+8v+10=5\]

OpenStudy (iesmee):

\[5x ^{2}+26x+2=-3\]

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I would find the discriminant first and then use quadratics if its necessary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3v^2 + 8v + 10 - 5 = 0 3v^ + 8v + 5 = 0 (v+1)(3v+5) v = -1 or -5/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x^2+26x+2=−3 5x^2+26x+2+3 = 0 5x^2+26x+5 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5x+ )(x + ) You're going to use a 3 & 1...you must decide where to place them in the parenthesis

OpenStudy (iesmee):

Do I kick it to the back..? not sure how this is donw

OpenStudy (iesmee):

@Directrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry...I got kicked off the internet...it's 5 & 1 not 3 & 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5x+ 5 )(x + 1 )= 5x^2+10x + 5 not right...doesn't lead to original question (5x+ 1 )(x + 5 )= 5x^2 + 26x + 5 this works so the parenthesis are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -1/5 or -5

OpenStudy (iesmee):

both answers are correct and the steps are above

OpenStudy (iesmee):

i see, thank you very much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome
