First distribute the -4 into the parenthesis. The equation becomes 14 = -4x - 12. Then add the -12 to the other side, to make 26 = -4x. Then divide by 4 on both sides to get your answer.

14=-4(x-3) 14=-4x+12 14-12=-4x 2=-4x x=2/-4 x=-0.5 but im still not sure .....
