Mary has type A blood and her husband has type B blood . Her husband's parents had type AB. They have three children , one with type A, one with type AB and one with type B . A. What are the parents genotypes b. Which child was adopted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the husband's parents were both AB, for the husband to have type B, it would have to be BB. Therefore every one of his actual kids has to have a B, so the type A kid had to have been adopted. Since one of the kids has type B, this means he didn't get an A from the wife, he got an O, so the wife is AO (Because the wife is known to be type A, and not AB). A) wife: AO husband: BB B) Child with blood type A is adopted.
