You need some trigonometry. Check this page: http://likeaphysicist.tumblr.com/post/8356457419/sayitwithscience-soh-cah-toa-this-simple

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill have a look thankyou.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right okay ill give it another go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alakara you are wrong. That should be \[\sin 37\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would i have to do the hypotenuse divided by the adjacent angle so cos37?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to use sin if you want to find out the opposite side. Cos if you need the adjacent side. AB is the opposite, so use sin37.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right one second ill probably need more help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should arrive to AB=3.4905

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.549022 is what i got from sin37

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.60181 according to my calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh dear, ill go with yours, then do i divide it by 5.8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make sure that your calculator uses degrees and not radians

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply i mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i had it on the radians one i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep 5.8*sin37=ABside

Thankyou
