Yuri solved the equation below incorrectly. Explain the step where he went wrong. fifteen times b plus one equals thirty Step 1: fifteen times b divided by fifteen plus one equals thirty divided by fifteen Step 2: b plus one equals two Step 3: b plus one minus one equals two minus one Step 4: b equals one

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

ya i got u

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

ok in step 1 is where he messed up

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

Before he divides by 15b he has to isolate that variable so you have to subtract 1 from both sides first and u get 15b=29

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

So he did the first step wrong.

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

He was suppose to isolate the variable first which means he had to get 15b by itself first before divideing by 15 so he had to subtract 1 first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you soooo much @jojo4eva

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

no problem
