WILL GIVE MEDALS AND FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which of the following best describes the long-term impact of using a renewable energy source? Natural gas causes air pollution when burned. Nuclear power produces harmful radiation. Biomass releases greenhouse gases when burned. Wind power can pollute air supplies.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say B because if you get caught in the radiation it can trigger different illness so that's long term. Other than that A and D are pointless because they are not really long term

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! YOU ARE A LIFESAVER!!!!

No problem. :)

B is not correct. The question is asking for the long-term effects of a RENEWABLE energy source. The key word here is renewable. Since nuclear power and natural gas are not renewable resources that eliminates A and B from your choices. The last possible choices are C and D. Wind Power and Biomass are both renewable resources but only one of them has long-term affects. One major difference between the two is that wind power is a clean energy source and biomass is not. This information would make D false. Your final possible answer is C because biomass is the burning of wood or garbage for energy and this process does in fact release greenhouse gases when burned. This process is not clean and has LONG TERM EFFECTS on the atmosphere because of the increase of green house gases released. The correct answer is going to be C.
